Milan, 24 March 2020 - Pirelli, in light of the present Covid-19 emergency, has decided to cancel the production and launch of the 2021 Pirelli Calendar. In the context of other initiatives already undertaken by the company, “The Cal” project will donate 100,000 euro to the fight against and research into Coronavirus.

The collaboration, which began in 2019 as a technical partner, has led to two Italian titles, a European Championships silver medal and a bronze at the Cross-Country Marathon Worlds. It also contributed to the development of Scorpion MTB tires, thanks to feedback from the team’s athletes and the work of Pirelli engineers. Pirelli's experience in Motocross, boasting 72 world titles, was also put to good use.

Pirelli will supply several rally champions throughout the world

Pirelli has been chosen by the FIA, world motorsport’s governing body, as the sole supplier for the World Rally Championship from 2021 to 2024. In particular, Pirelli will supply all the four-wheel drive cars that compete on the championship, from the WRC category that fights for the overall title, to the R5-specification WRC2 class, which is also the headlining category on regional and national championships throughout the world.

It's was decided to keep same tyres for next season by the F1 teams

Having analysed all the results and team assessments from the recent test in Abu Dhabi, a vote for the specification of the tyres for the 2020 Season was carried out according to Article 12.6.1 of the technical regulations. The vote resulted in a unanimous decision to keep the 2019 specification tyres for the 2020 season by the Formula 1 teams.
